Dashing...through the snow?

Well, whew! I made it done with the Dashing mits just in time as we're supposed to be getting a rain/snow storm starting tonight.

I don't mind...pour it on! get it out of the system by Sunday so we're not soaked at the game!

Here's a photo with the Dashing mit on my hand...it's a little harder to see the great ribbing and cabling since they're not stretched for maximum effect. I hope to have a pic with the hubby wearing them soonish...even if I have to do it on the sly ;)

I really enjoyed this project...super fast (from start to finish in 3 days)...and I think I may even have to make myself a pair to 1) stashbust some pink acrylic, 2) keep my fingers warm on my drive to work.
I'd almost recommend this pattern for someone who's never cabled before. You only end up "cabling" on twice on 3 different rows...everything else is k4, p1.

No time to blog! Just Knit!!! ACK!

We're taking a little road trip this weekend to go to a football game...and shocker...while it's 50 degrees during the week, by Sunday, it's supposed to be sleeting/snowing/raining. Great. So, I'm trying to hurriedly whip together a pair of the Dashing gloves from Knitty.com (http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring07/PATTdashing.html) for hubby to help to keep him warm in the cold since he only has one pair of gloves (store bought) that don't really allow him to use his digits to oh, hold a cup, or do anything else that may need even the slightest bit of dexterity!

Sooooo...last night I cast on one of the Dashing mits and was able to get that one finished before I hit the sack. So now, just this quick little post as a mini-break from the furious knitting as I work to complete the second glove.

By the way, I love the designer of this glove, Cheryl Niamath. She's the same designer that did the Fetching pattern on Knitty.com (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTfetching.html) which I've made 3 times now! :) Great patterns with great cable details!

P.S. Hubby will get his first experience "modeling" when I complete the second mit...ha! we'll see how that goes!

As I sit in the store parking lot

At 6:53, I wonder..."Am I crazy for being up this early? Is it worth fighting the crowds? Will I really save that much?...."

Oh! Now it's 6:55! Only 5 more minutes!! :)

Wahoo! All done by 8:30! And back snuggly at home...and yeah, it was worth it ;)

What a stressful day

A day full of this: http://www.kwch.com/Global/story.asp?S=7332459&clienttype=mobile

And no chance for relaxation knitting tonight because I'm going to a lia sophia bingo/hostess appreciation night. Check out their amazing jewelry at http://www.liasophia.com/christypabst.

Oh, by the way, I'm almost done with the foot of my first entrelac sock. So amazing that they're so easy!

Hopefully tomorrow's a little better...

Who'da thunk...

That entrelac really isn't as hard as it looks.

I bought this sock yarn this summer at Heritage Hut here in Wichita (Thanks Dianna for the gift certificate), and I knew I wanted to use it on some socks that had an interesting pattern.

I finally got enough nerve to pick a pattern and selected Eunny's Entrelac sock pattern from the Spring 2007 Interweave mag.

So far, they're going *very* well. And very fast!
